This is a very import court case that Microsoft is fighting that effects not only Microsoft but AOL ( Netscape) and all other browser and ever using of the Internet.
First Read this article from Windows & .NET Mag, Microsoft Browser Patent Retrial Bid Falls Flat

If the patent office does not revoke it and Eolas continues to win then plug-ins will be removed from the browser in IE and then soon Netscape and all the others unless they make a deal.   The web would be set back at least 5 years.

It is a new year and this is the first log of 2004, I would have loged some things yesterday but the power supply in the web server failed and so the server was down until around 5PM.  I will try and remember what I wanted to type yesterday but then again I am getting old and might not remember.
